After a 14-hour overnight bus ride, we arrived at the Retiro bus terminal in downtown Buenos Aires. Our new host, Pablo, graciously picked us up from the terminal and brought us to our home for the next month, the Casa Natal de Troilo, located in the neighborhood of Palermo. Some photos of the house are here. The house is a historic landmark and was the childhood home of well-known bandoneon player, Aníbal Troilo.
We are looking forward to finding some part-time jobs, meeting people, working on our spanish, and getting to know the city!

Glad to see that you made it safe and sound to BA! I listened to some of the music of Anibal Troilo…it makes me want to put my tango shoes on :o)

Gwen and Steve
Hey Tom and Heather!
Steve and I have been following jealously and silently your adventures for a while now and I thought it was about time that we say something.
It’s just amazing to read the blog and look at the pictures. Continue to have fun and do not think you are missing anything here!
Buenos Aires: I always wanted to go there. I don’t know if he is famous in Argentina but if you have time one day go check out if you can find “Tango” from Hugo Pratt. It’s an adventure of Corto Maltese, and he’s a graphic novel character.
Keep the news coming! And we’ll send some of our boring news ;o)
Cheers,
Gwen.
